Information You Submit
Search terms
A name or location entered into a search tool passes to the third-party company that operates that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider’s policy controls its handling of the query.
Messages
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the content and return address as needed to respond. We do not share it outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Technical Data Collected
Like most sites, the service may automatically collect limited technical and usage details when a page loads:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising features. You can block or remove cookies through browser settings, though parts of the service may then work differently.
Purposes for Using Data
- Operate the site and maintain performance
- Send a search request to the selected partner
- Measure which Linn County record pages help visitors
- Detect and repair errors or security problems
- Present advertising that may reflect user interests
Outside Sites and Advertising
Links may lead to the Linn County Sheriff, Macon County Jail, MSHP, Missouri Courts, MODOC, federal locators, news sources, or private search tools. Once you leave, that service’s privacy terms apply. This site does not control its collection practices.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select interest-based advertising. That tracking is performed by the provider, not within records held by this site.
When Data May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be provided to:
- Search partners that process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- Law-enforcement or government authorities responding to a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand
Missouri’s Sunshine Law, including RSMo § 610.100, governs public status at originating agencies. It does not change this private site’s data practices or turn this site into a government custodian.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information. Still, no internet transmission, connected service, or storage system can be promised as completely secure or breach-proof.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of certain processing when available
These requests concern data held by this site. Corrections to an arrest, court, or custody record must go to the government custodian, and expungement is governed by RSMo § 610.140.
