This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, free anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. The site is not a consumer reporting agency, and its information cannot be used for an FCRA-covered decision. Ask the government office that holds the record.
Official Linn County Contacts
Linn County Sheriff’s Office
115 W. Jackson Street
Linneus, MO 64653
Non-emergency: (660) 895-5312
Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Records custodian: CustodianOfRecords@LinnCoSoMo.gov
The sheriff’s records-request instructions call for a written request sent to the custodian, not by fax. Include the report number, incident address, subject names, and enough detail to locate the item. Missouri’s Sunshine Law response process may involve a response, denial, or delay estimate within three business days. Ask for a written cost estimate first.
Macon County Sheriff’s Office and Jail
101 E. Washington Street
Macon, MO 63552
Phone: (660) 385-2062
Linn County says it no longer has a jail and points inmate, visiting, and commissary questions to Macon. That routing does not prove every Linn arrest is currently held there, so call the facility or arresting agency to verify.
Conflicting Records Fees
Two official Linn County pages show different research rates. The record-request page lists $16 per hour, while the sheriff fee schedule lists $14 per hour. Both state $0.10 per standard paper copy and actual costs for items such as media, maps, programming, mailing, or postage. Confirm the current hourly rate with the records custodian before paying.
Choose the Right Record Source
Our source map was reviewed on September 10, 2026. Government custodians come first, followed by court and custody systems; news reports and private tools are secondary. This site does not display a mugshot gallery or rehost booking photos.
- For arrest records or an available booking photo, begin with the Linn County recent-arrests hub, then submit a source-specific records request.
- For a same-day MSHP arrest, use 24 Hour Arrests. For several days of context, use the Arrest Log.
- For custody or release alerts, use the VINELink Check and verify with Macon County Jail.
- For Brookfield, Marceline, or Linneus events, use the appropriate city police agency or Linn County Sheriff. City links appear below.
- For a sentenced or supervised state offender, use the Missouri Department of Corrections offender search.
- For a federal or immigration detainee, use the official BOP locator or ICE locator.
- For an expungement filing, review RSMo § 610.140 and the Missouri Courts CR145 form. Expungement is a court process, not a website edit.
Charges describe accusations. They are not proof of guilt, and a court disposition may later show a dismissal, reduction, acquittal, or conviction.
